Throwback Thursday : My Love for Gossip Girl

When you have spend most of your sixteen to early twenties in between 2008 - 2010, you are probably familiar with 'Gossip Girl' - the TV Drama that introduced us Blake Lively and Leighton Meester and I am madly in love with the drama as I am madly in love with the books. Honestly, I was slightly turned off when I heard of the TV Show spin-off of the book series but I was so impressed by the performance of most of the actors that I can't help myself to love the show and here I am walking down a few memory lanes of some of my fave moment in Gossip Girl.

July Inspiration : Positive Makeovers

In light of celebrating this month with positivity, It was important for me to think deeply of what I can do to wake every morning from July onward, and just get by my days feeling more welcome and receptive of what will happen. I am a big believer of Allah is the best planner, and that sometimes will make me not wanting to plan anything for the day. However, that attitude only brought more boring days ahead so in others words, I realised that if i were to ever want to celebrate and preach about positive July, I have to start with myself and that first step to give myself and the environment around me a good make over.

The Many Styles of Maxi Dresses

As a Muslimah, it's very important to wear something that are humble and conservative and one of the best fashion item or clothing that actually speaks these volumes to me are maxi dresses. They are long and some comes in flowy fabric and pretty designs and I just love no matter what body shaped you are, there is always a maxi dress that is perfect for you. Now unlike some who will wear maxi dresses on its own or those with long slits, there is a more conservative way to wearing maxi dresses for Muslimahs. These are my favourite styles that I try, sometimes when it comes to styling maxi dresses.

Stunner of the Week : Camila Mendes

I live to do posts like these because no. 1, I just love fashion and no. 2, I like to look at celebrities and what they wear. So here's my choice for stunner of the week. I first noticed her while watching Riverdale (who doesn't love that show) and I just love that she was the one who played Veronica Lodge who happens to be my favourite character from the Archie comics. That girl is Camila Mendes. She's Brazilian American with both her parents are Brazilians and I guess with a caramel skin and her demure yet dangerous features, Camila has a range of style that just made me love her.

Black & White Office Wear

My weekly problem will always be on Thursday night when I have to figure out what to wear the next day. I work in a corporate company where we MUST wear the company's uniform every Monday until Thursday. Every Friday, it's smart casual where we are allowed to not wear the corporate uniform but still maintain the professional corporate look. See the problem? For four days in a week, I literally have nothing to worry about when it comes to my style and then comes the most important day of the week, I literally have to figure out what to wear. As I was browsing through my closet today, I noticed how many black, whites and grays that I owned, so here are some inspiration options that I was able to conjured up.

Stunner of the Week : Naomi Scott

Aladdin is now in theaters and as much as I was curious about the man who played the mischievous street rat cum prince, I am crazy excited about the woman who is playing Princess Jasmine. Honest to God, Jasmine is not my favourite Disney princess but after finding out that Naomi Scott will be playing that role, I was excited. I knew she will be perfect for the role and I was actually excited to watch her red carpet appearances because during Power Ranger's premiere, Naomi looked stunning and she brought her eclectic style throughout Aladdin's premiere too.

Hijab for the Office

Being a Muslim woman means that I have to wear the Hijab to identify myself as a Muslim. However, even though my office regulates us to wear a uniform, I still find it hard to wear a proper Hijab that fits the uniformed office look. It has come to a point where I'm just not bothered to try anymore but I guess there is still a conscious in me that wants to look good even though I'm wearing a uniform.
